Contributions to the Study of Ancient World Cultures, the award is presented annually to the author of an exceptional dissertation in the field of Classical Studies.
This year’s winning dissertation is “Hercules in der Spätantike. Die Rolle des Heros im Spannungsfeld von Heidentum und Christentum” (Hercules in late antiquity. The role of hero amongst the conflict between paganism and Christianity) by Alexandra Eppinger. The award was presented by Dr. Barbara Krauss, Director Harrassowitz Verlag, during an award ceremony in June at the University of Trier, Germany.
