University of Chicago Press and University of California Press to Move to New Platform in 2016

Please be informed that with 2016 both the University of Chicago Press and the University of California Press will be migrating their online journals from the JSTOR platform. The University of Chicago Press online journals will move to the Atypon platform and the online journals from the University of California Press will become part of HighWire.

Beginning in mid-2015, there will be an overlap of content between the old JSTOR and the new Atypon and HighWire platforms, with concurrent hosting through the end of 2015. With 2016, all University of Chicago Press content will be available through Atypon, all University of California Press content through HighWire. Both University of Chicago Press and University of California Press will be working with their new online providers to ensure a smooth transition of their content to the new platform from JSTOR where, for the past several years, journals published by both publishers have been available as part of the JSTOR Current Scholarship Program. The complete back issues of all journals will continue to be preserved and made available through JSTOR’s archival collections. Existing content will be added to the JSTOR archive until it catches up with the moving wall. New titles are not included and any new journals will also not be added to the archive.

As content is moving to the new platforms, agreements that cover University of Chicago Press and University of California Press journals on the JSTOR platform will terminate and a new license agreement will need to be signed. We will inform all customers once these new agreements become available.
