Oxford University Press Journals on New Platform Oxford Academic

Please be informed that in November 2016, Oxford University Press (OUP) will start migrating its online journal content to a new platform, Oxford Academic. The migration will take place in two phases, on November 14 and November 30. The existing platform will automatically redirect to the new platform once journals have migrated. The entire migration is scheduled to be completed by January 2017, at which point other online products will be moved to Oxford Academic as well. This will allow for easy access to all products (journals, e-books, and databases) as well as for cross-product searches.

The new platform will be hosted on https. To ensure seamless access to Oxford Academic journals content, customers using proxy servers are asked to complete any updates to proxy servers and other access methods before the launch in November and to confirm access settings and finalize their updates in January. Further information on proxy and EZProxy configurations can be found here.

Oxford Academic supports institutional user authentication via IP recognition and federated access (i.e. Shibboleth or OpenAthens). All current authentications will remain effective. Existing My Accounts will be migrated to the new platform, and, as part of this process, will be renamed Oxford Academic Account. Throughout the migration phase data will be synchronised on a regular basis. Users are asked to only make urgent changes to their accounts during this time.

Existing SUSHI accounts will be de-activated and users will have to re-register for new account credentials.

Usage statistics reports will continue to be available via My Account, and will also be available on Oxford Academic Account upon launch.

URLs will change as part of the move to the new digital platform. The new Oxford Academic URL structure will be https:academic. For individual journals, the structure will be code. Journal codes will be the same as they are on the current site, e.g. will become
