"Springer Flip Deal" 2012 Information:

Libraries that sign up for the 2012 "Springer Flip Deal" through a consortium will notice that Springer has made some changes to its invoicing procedures. In contrast to previous years, subscriptions covered by the consortium-wide list will now be invoiced in a lump sum. Title-by-title invoices for items in these lists will not be provided by Springer.

With many years of experience in managing e-journal packages, HARRASSOWITZ understands the importance of tracking individual titles supplied in packages. To help libraries manage the complexities of the 2012 Springer Flip Deal, HARRASSOWITZ offers several invoicing options beyond the simple lump sum invoice that Springer supplies:

· Lump sum invoicing with documentational records (order records with no charges) for the individual titles on the consortial title list
· Lump sum invoicing with documentational records only for the titles charged for 2011
· Lump sum invoicing split by fund code with documentational records as above
· Title-by-title invoicing based on 2011 prices. HARRASSOWITZ calculates the 2012 prices proportionally, so that the total matches the 2012 billing.

Depending on the individual Springer deal, libraries may elect to have separately priced titles (takeovers, new titles and individually subscribed titles) invoiced either individually or in a lump sum. HARRASSOWITZ provides title-by-title invoicing for these titles unless the library requests a lump sum invoice.

· Comparison of the publisher's complete 2012 subscription lists with the library's 2011 list, for confirmation and reconciliation purposes
· License agreements (supplied by the customer) scanned and displayed in OttoSerials, with links from all orders covered by the agreement, both documentational order records and order records for individually invoiced titles
· HARRASSOWITZ E-Stats reports (consolidated COUNTER usage statistics, with cost and acquisitions information) for 2011 and later years, for packages and other subscriptions
