Landolt-Boernstein to become SpringerMaterials in 2010:

In January 2010 Springer will launch SpringerMaterials, an online database replacing the Landolt-Boernstein collection. By the time of the launch, SpringerMaterials will be based on over 400 volumes of the Landolt-Boernstein New Series - the most comprehensive electronic content platform in the physical sciences.

SpringerMaterials is the world's largest content platform of selected and critically assessed data in all areas of physical sciences & engineering. By January it will consist of 70,000 online documents, including more than 120,000 figures, over a million literature references and over 65,000 keywords. These data give scientists quick access to substance properties, functional relationships and numerical data. With so much breadth and depth of content from a trusted source, SpringerMaterials is an invaluable resource for materials scientists, engineers, chemists, and physicists.

Pricing for institutional access to SpringerMaterials is based on institution type and number of FTE.

Printed volumes will still be published, containing selected material from the electronic version of SpringerMaterials. For 2010, 15 volumes are planned. The print volumes can be purchased as single issues, as a standing order, or as a prepaid standing order.
