 News Release (July 2010)

JSTOR Current Scholarship Program for 2011 now available for ordering:

Earlier this year, JSTOR announced its Current Scholarship Program, offering access to current journal content on the JSTOR platform, starting in 2011. Through this program, users will be able to gain access to entire runs of selected journals through a single interface. For the 2011 subscription year, 174 titles from 19 publishers will be available. HARRASSOWITZ is pleased to handle Current Scholarship subscriptions as well as subscriptions to the traditional JSTOR archive. HARRASSOWITZ provides title-by-title invoices for Current Scholarship Program orders and will assist with activation and access. HARRASSOWITZ also provides management reports and timely notifications of any publisher, frequency, or title changes.

All JSTOR Current Scholarship titles can be found in OttoSerials or at: http://support.jstor.org/csp/titles/ (by title) and http://www.jstor.org/templates/jsp/_jstor/templates/info/about/programs/relatedPDFs/cspPublisherAndTitleList.pdf (by publisher).

The Current Scholarship Program offers subscriptions to both individual titles and collections, which are analogous to the JSTOR archive collections. For 2011, the following subscription options are available for both:

  • Online only, with access to current content
  • Print plus online access to current content
  • Online only, with access to the full run of issues, including all issues in the JSTOR archive up to the present. In most cases this includes all content from the beginning of the publication.

For both individual title and collection subscription options, "current content" includes all content starting with the earliest "born digital" issue. The title list at http://support.jstor.org/csp/titles/ indicates the start date of current content for each title under the heading "Digital Availability Date."

For subscribers to the JSTOR archives, JSTOR provides post-cancellation access to paid-for current content until the JSTOR archive's "moving wall" catches up to the year in which the subscription was cancelled. Institutions participating in the Portico digital preservation service may use Portico to obtain post-cancellation access to cancelled Current Scholarship journals. Other subscribers may acquire post-cancellation access to subscribed Current Scholarship content for a small annual fee. Post-cancellation access terms are described in detail at http://www.jstor.org/page/info/about/policies/terms.jsp, section 10.2.

Pricing for individual titles and collections is based on JSTOR classification. Pricing information may be found at http://www.jstor.org/page/info/about/programs/currentScholarship.jsp#fees.

HARRASSOWITZ customers will shortly receive a list of their subscriptions that are now available through the Current Scholarship Program, so that they can convert these orders if they wish.

New JSTOR customers should review the licensing agreement at http://www.jstor.org/page/info/participate/new/forms.jsp.

Existing JSTOR customers should review the Rider at http://www.jstor.org/templates/jsp/_jstor/templates/info/about/programs/csp/cspRider.pdf.

Print-only subscriptions to individual titles that are in the Current Scholarship Program can also be ordered through HARRASSOWITZ.

Please send your orders for single titles and packages to service@harrassowitz.de or enter them in OttoSerials. If you already know your JSTOR price tier, please include this information with your orders. Please mention which subscription option you are interested in.

If you have further questions, please contact service@harrassowitz.de.
