Publication schedule: volumes 5, 7, and 9 will be published in 2007, volume 1, 4, and 6 in 2008 and volumes 2, 3, and 8 will follow in 2009.
The volumes published within the series Handbooks of Applied Linguistics are all written in English and provide a state-of-the-art description of different areas of applied linguistics. The aim is to provide descriptions, analyses, explanations and, if possible, solutions of everyday language-related problems. There will be 9 volumes to form the complete handbook.
The editors' major objective is to present a critical appraisal of the relevance of applied linguistics from the perspective of individual actors or social groups or societies.
