Additional French-language journals available through CAIRN portal:

CAIRN, a portal for French-language journals in the social sciences and humanities, will offer a new package including 56 French Studies journals in 2009.

CAIRN was launched in 2005 by four publishers, three French (Belin, La Découverte and Érès) and one Belgian (De Boeck), to collect major French-language journals in the social sciences and humanities. The project is supported by the Bibliothèque nationale de France (National Library of France) and the Centre national du livre (the National Center of the Book).

A list of titles that are currently available is on their site. Around 50 journals will be added for 2009, for a total of about 200 journals at the portal.

Libraries may subscribe to the complete collection or any of several subject collections. Lists of the complete offering and each subject collection can be found at the portal. Title lists for the new package with the French Studies journals are not yet listed on the publisher’s web site.
