VTLS Virtua : monographic purchase orders

HARRASSOWITZ will automatically process monographic purchase orders in the EDIFACT format from the Virtua system.

Please take the following steps to set up EDIFACT ordering for monographs:

1. Contact your Virtua support representative at VTLS to set up your system to produce EDIFACT purchase orders. You will need to provide them with the following information:

2. Create a test purchase order. We suggest making an order for a real title, to best exercise the loading into the HARRASSOWITZ system. This order will, however, be treated as a TEST, and will not be processed.

Please use the following naming convention for your EDIFACT purchase orders:

For example, an order file created at 4:00:00 PM on July 18, 2006 would be named:

200610718160000.XXX.edi.orders

Where XXX is your HARRASSOWITZ customer code.

3. Put the test file in the HARRASSOWITZ test FTP directory:

If you are using secure FTP, please place the test files in the test directory of the HARRASSOWITZ SFTP site:

4. Notify HARRASSOWITZ that you have sent a test order by sending an e-mail message to service@harrassowitz.de. Please let us know the name of the test file.

5. HARRASSOWITZ will check the test order, and you will receive a message that it was received and whether or not it could be processed. It may be necessary to repeat the test to resolve any problems. Once a successful test has been received, you will receive instructions to start placing real orders routinely in the EDIFACT production directory:
