New Title Announcements by E-mail:

HARRASSOWITZ sends announcements (sometimes known as "slips") of the publication of new monographic titles to libraries that have set up a profile for this service.

Starting in January 2009, all New Title Announcements will be delivered only by e-mail. This will provide for faster delivery and will enable our customers to use both new and enhanced functions that have not been available with traditional paper slips.

HARRASSOWITZ hopes you will enjoy the following advantages with e-mail delivery of New Title Announcements:

1. E-slips are delivered immediately. There is no need to wait for printed slips to arrive in the mail. E-slips can be delivered weekly, biweekly, monthly, or bimonthly, and limited in number of titles delivered per e-mail
2. E-slips offer flexibility in both collection development and acquisitions workflows. You can review them at your computer, forward by email to anyone you wish, or print those you wish to review elsewhere
3. E-slips provide links directly to the bibliographic record in OttoEditions, where thousands of enhanced records can be viewed. From that OttoEditions' record, ISBNs and ISMNs can link directly to your library's OPAC, along with online selection and ordering options
4. E-slips come in multiple copies. HARRASSOWITZ will send the announcements to as many e-mail addresses as you wish
5. E-slips are environmentally friendly and save both paper and ink

In 2009, barcodes of the ISBN (or the EAN or HARRASSOWITZ title ID if no ISBN is available) will be included in the e-slips that are emailed in the PDF format, so that they can be printed and used in the same manner as our former printed slips.

If your library receives New Title Announcements, please let us know, by contacting service@harrassowitz.de, which e-mail address or addresses you would like us to use for e-mailing your New Title Announcements. It is possible to subdivide the New Title Announcements so that different subject categories are sent to different bibliographers. If you would like to map different subject categories to different e-mail addresses, or if you wish to limit the number of slips included in each e-mail message, please also include these instructions. Or you may use the E-slips Request Form to send us all of your instructions.
