News Release (May 2009)
New OttoEditions enhancements aid in the review of New Title Announcements:HARRASSOWITZ has added two features to OttoEditions that will make the management of New Title Announcements, also known as E-slips, simpler and more efficient. For those libraries that receive New Title Announcements, there is now a button in the OttoEditions display that allows bibliographers to "reject" any NTA's that they have decided not to order or select. When an NTA is rejected, it gets a new order status and is no longer retrieved in a search for new title announcements. This means that after an NTA has been either ordered, selected or rejected, the bibliographer will never again need to review it in future OttoEditions sessions. Second, all order records (including New Title Announcements) from the entire OttoEditions account, as well as order records belonging to other units at the same institution that have separate OttoEditions accounts, are now visible to all OttoEditions usernames at the institution. Knowing whether or not a book has been selected or ordered at the institution will help in making selection decisions. At the time of this News Release, as the "reject NTA" feature becomes available, all usernames have permission to "reject" all New Title Announcements. It is essential that the OttoEditions coordinator in each library adjust all username permissions to be sure that only the bibliographer responsible for an –FS customer code has permission to reject NTA's for that customer code. To correct the permissions for a username, the OttoEditions coordinator should click on "Account Management" on the Main Menu, then "Modify or Delete Username" for the username being adjusted. An overview of workflow options for reviewing New Title Announcements will be available from service@harrassowitz.de. The OttoEditions User Guide is also a helpful source of information. Please contact service@harrassowitz.de or your Regional Sales Manager if you have any questions about these new features or any other aspect of OttoEditions.
