HARRASSOWITZ receives ISO 9001: 2000 certificate:
HARRASSOWITZ is pleased to announce that the company has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification for the provision of scholarly books and periodicals to university and research libraries worldwide, following an intensive review of its organizational structures and workflows. The review was conducted by the independent certification body of TÜV Süd München, one of the regional offices of the Technischer Überwachungsverein, which is responsible for evaluating quality management systems of German companies. The audit report, which will be repeated annually, is dated December 11, 2007 and emphasizes the clear and comprehensive documentation of HARRASSOWITZ procedures as well as the efficiency of the workflows within the overall organization. It specifically mentions the effectiveness of internal communication and the high degree of motivation on part of the HARRASSOWITZ staff and their high level of performance. Moreover, HARRASSOWITZ receives top marks on its infrastructure and working environment.
ISO 9001: 2000 represents the most authoritative international model for evaluating the quality management of the working processes within a company. It judges productivity, workflows and performance in the provision of services offered, with an emphasis on quality controls, both currently administered and planned for the future.
