News Release (February 2009)
HARRASSOWITZ is ISMN-13 compliant:
HARRASSOWITZ has implemented the ISMN-13 (13-digit International Standard Music Number) in accordance with the International ISMN Agency's deadline of the end of 2008. All of HARRASSOWITZ's databases, programs and data interchange procedures now use the 13-digit number. In OttoEditions, all 10-digit ISMN's have been converted to 13 digits, but the 10-digit version remains, so that searching, identification, matching and duplicate detection will continue without problems, even if only one version is known to the user. This means that orders can still be placed, even if only the 10-digit ISMN appears in the order.
OttoEditions title displays, New Title Announcements, electronic invoices, MARC 21 records, status reports, and management reports all include both the ISMN-13 and ISMN-10, when available. Paper invoices show only one of the following numbers: the ISBN-13, the publisher number, the ISMN-13, or the HARRASSOWITZ Title ID. The first of these numbers that is available is printed on the invoice. For more information about the ISMN-13, please contact service@harrassowitz.de.
